Electrophysiology (Arrhythmia Treatments)
Electrophysiology is a division of cardiology that focuses on the heart’s electrical system. At Cardiovascular Institute of San Diego we offer comprehensive electrophysiology services to treat every type of arrhythmia. We offer state of the art treatment for atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter premature ventricular contractions (PVC), premature atrial contractions (PAC), supraventricular tachycardias (SVT), and ventricular tachycardias (VT). Palpitations or shortness of breath can often be the result of these arrhythmias. We can significantly reduce your symptoms with proper treatment, which may include lifestyle changes, medications and can often times cure these arrhythmias by utilizing transcatheter ablation procedures.
In addition we offer a full line of pacemaker options for our patients with slow heart rate conditions. This includes access to new technologies including leadless pacemakers. Our Heart failure patients have access to all current options for defibrillators as well, including subcutaneous defibrillators that do not require access into the heart.
Our experienced Electrophysiology subspecialists are available to review all of CVISD’s arrhythmia diagnostic testing to ensure top quality care.
