About Michelle Cuevas:

Dr. Michelle Cuevas is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Degree. She obtained her FNP degree from Midwestern State University (2009), and then attended Texas Christian University (2014) for her doctorate. Dr. Cuevas has been in the healthcare field for over 20 years, initially as a Registered Nurse (RN) working primarily in the critical care setting, and notably as a Certified Organ Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC) for the state of New Mexico. For over a decade she has been caring for patients as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in various settings including internal medicine, community health, and retail health, as well as educating NP students as university faculty and as a clinical preceptor. She has joined Cardiovascular Institute of San Diego because of her long-standing passion for Cardiology. Dr. Cuevas is a member of her local and national NP organizations. She has served on the California Association of Nurse Practitioners (CANP) Health Policy & Practice committee and as Vice President on the board of the San Diego North county chapter. Currently, she is serving as a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) Social Media task force as she continues to be a strong advocate for NPs and quality healthcare for all California residents. Michelle lives in North County with her husband and family. She is a proud mother of eight and grandmother of three. Besides trying to keep her patients healthy she enjoys audiobooks, fitness, and leisurely time with her family.
